Judge Royale Colbert is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (1996), Southern University Law Center (2000), and the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s School (2006). Prior to becoming a 15th Judicial District Judge, he served the United States and our community as a member of the Mighty 256th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, JAG officer, member of the U.S. Air Force, Assistant Attorney General, public defender, felony prosecutor in the Lafayette Parish District Attorney’s office, and as a civil attorney in private practice.
